Rapping On The Dance Floor

FREE song download: https://spintown.bandcamp.com/track/rapping-on-the-dance-floor Lyrics: Spintown (with help from Glenn Case) Music & Vocals: Glenn Case https://www.youtube.com/user/glenncase During FAWM 2019 I was struggling to think of an idea for awhile so I decided to finish a rap I started close to 20 years ago. And this requires some backstory. I went to college to become a P.E. Teacher, and one of the classes I was required to take was a dance & gymnastics class. The Professor decided it would be a good idea for everyone to get into a circle & 1 at a time have each person introduce themselves and then....do an interpretive dance or make up a song to sing in front of the class. This guy was clearly evil. I'm not a dancer, and I wasn't looking forward to having to dance at all in this class. But to be singled out on day 1 to dance or sing (another thing I don't do) was a nightmare. Thankfully someone asked if they could rap instead of sing, and the professor allowed it. So I frantically started scribbling words down on paper. I got lucky & didn't have to go first, but there were only about 10 people who had to go in front of me, and I've never written any type of lyrics before. When my turn came around I had 2 verses written down on paper. The first one wasn't too bad, and the 2nd was iffy at best. But I recited them, and it was enough to satisfy my new least favorite person on Earth, so I was allowed to sit down. Now I'm horrible at remembering lyrics to songs. But this moment was so traumatic for me I never forgot the words I scribbled down that day. So I've used them as a starting off point for this song. After FAWM 2019 the lyrics sat untouched for a couple years. Recently I revised them slightly & sent them off to Glenn Case to bring to life. He added the vamp at the start & made slight adjustments where needed in the lyrics. He of course did everything else. Took 20ish years...but the song is done.
