With this being the last day of December, Christmas at Spintown is officially over after this blog post. No more Christmas videos until December 1st, 2011....have a happy New Years!

Jingle My BaIIs Peter Chao has his own version of "Jingle Bells".

All I Got: A Picture Song Nice Peter gives you a brand new Picture Song for Christmas.
All I Want For Christmas Is You by Kevin Lien (Mariah Carey cover)
Kickity Christmas Time Ryan & Evan Kasprzak were 2 of my favorite dancers on "So You Think You Can Dance", and they've teamed up with others for a Christmas rap.
Star Wars Christmas I'm not a huge Star Wars geek, but I thought this was pretty well done.
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town I decided to make an E-Card including some of my favorite YouTubers. You can head over to Jib Jab to CREATE YOUR OWN VIDEO with your friends & family.
Happy Christmas by Lisa Lavie featuring Lyne Sullivan, Stacy Dudero, Misha Moore, Heidi Jutras, Blair Perkins, Orlando Dixon, Airto Edmundo, Emmanuelle Auger, Laura Broad, Anhayla Stanley, David Choi, Lois Mahalia, J Rice, Maria Zouroudis, Bruce & Daniel (John Lennon cover)
A Very Ke$ha Christmas Kesha is a stupid name to begin with, it's even worse when spelled with an "$".
This Christmas by DeStorm & Kina Grannis (Donny Hathaway cover) They were nice enough to offer their cover as a FREE DOWNLOAD.
Sometimes finding 7 new people to feature each month can be difficult. This month every time I sat down to search YouTube for new talent 99% of the stuff was crap. But I dug & dug...then dug some more, and I found a some individuals I think have some promise. The first person on the list is exactly the type of person I tend to look for. Someone who shows potential in multiple areas, and still doesn't have much of a following. I hope I can get her at least 1 new subscriber (well 2, because I'm subbing her now), and I hope she continues sharing her talents via YouTube.
I normally focus on finding lesser known YouTubers each month, but this month I did so more than usual even. Nobody has more than 500 subs in today's blog.
Anne by Jennifer Berning (388 subs) This channel is actually for 2 girls. I suggest you watch Jennifer cover "Fuck You" by Garfunkel & Oates, with her YouTube partner Maria Knoll.
Piccolini by Rebecca Jane Woodul (6 subs) It's funny, but I almost featured Rebecca's song "Bloom" last month. And this month, I randomly stumble onto this song.
Dick The Balls Stephanie Holmes will be getting some coal in her stocking if Santa hears all these dirty words, but I love a dirty girl.
I Saw Three Rogues "Three smelly Night Elf rogues attempt to kill the Orgrimmar auctioneers, but Ox & gang see them coming. What will they do about it?" - YouTube video description
Jingle Bell Rock by Craig Bevan (Bobby Helms cover)
I have some good news to report before I get to today's Christmas videos. I started a new Twitter account (which makes 3 total). For those that follow the songwriting contest, you know I have a @SpinTunes account to give people updates about that. My main account was @Spintown and I was using it for personal tweets & for posting blog updates. Well I just started a @SpinBlogs account, which will only be used to post blog updates. So now if you want to follow my personal account without getting blog spam, you can. Or if you just want blog updates, and don't give a shit about my personal tweets...you can have that as well. Either way, you now have a few options in terms of following me & the blog on Twitter. I'll be changing the links in the sidebar later tonight. Now on to the Christmas videos...

Yeah, it's been awhile, but I finally made a new one. I've actually got another one done, but I'm still not sure if I want to upload it. I got a message on Twitter the other day from a PFL fan. He was wanting me to sell him a signed DVD of the complete collection. Apparently it was to be a Christmas gift for his brother who is also a big PFL fan. I wouldn't feel right profiting from these videos, but I did promise to give the guy a shout out in the video. So merry Christmas PFL fans, and especially to @costlow.
I would really appreciate people spreading the word about the YouTube copy of this video. Especially to sites like GorillaMask & Phun.
These videos generally do pretty well in terms of views over time. I have 3 others on YouTube at the moment, and one of them has well over 300,000 views. The other 2 are around 70,000 views. I also have some on Metacafe, and 2 of them on that site have well over 100,000 views, with 6 others in the 10,000-70,000 range. If you are interested in covering my theme song, or writting a featured track for a video, it will probably be heard by a large number of people. So contact me if you're interested.
(Update: This video was featured on Phun, With Leather & made it to #62 on YouTube's weekly music chart. The YouTube version was viewed over 102,000 times within it's firt week of being posted.)
Santa Is A Gangsta Nice Peter revisited one of his old holiday songs.
Christmas Food Court Flash Mob At the 1:06 mark...doesn't that guy look like Ethan from "Lost"?
This Christmas You'll Always Be My Baby by AJ Rafael, Renee Thomas, Jessica Sanchez, Nick Pitera, Jumoke, Chris Cendana, Meghan Tonjes, Laura Song, Jon McSingee & SamDaSinga (Donny Hathaway & Mariah Carey covers)
Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy Jack Black & Jason Segel...animated...and rockin' Christmas.
Today's blog doesn't really have anything to do with music, but it's my blog & I typically do as I please here. :p I've long been a fan of the "Ask A Ninja" videos, and I often bait the ninja in the comments section. Well he finally decided to lay the smack down, but at least he hasn't killed me...yet.
Len Peralta put together a montage of his work & life online from the past 3 years. Some of you may know I've hired Len to make various Flip Faces & 1 Monster By Mail. In total I think I've hired him over 20 times, and I've never had reason to complain about his work. If you're looking for a Christmas gift for someone, a personalized avatar or video would probably surprise them.
You can see my Flip Face around the 3:38 mark in the video, and my Monster By Mail around the 4:19 mark. My dad, mom, sister, brother in-law, niece & nephew are all in the video (I got Flip Faces for my family last year). And you can also see others I purchased Flips for:
"Buckethat" Bobby Matheson Sammy Kablam Dustin McLean Mike "Spiff" Booth Frank Bell Kris Mark Joe "Covenant" Lamb Sarah LaMantia Jeff MacDougall Nathan Wills Mike Lombardo Meghan Tonjes Andy Rehfeldt Kata Hay Sasha Young Sophie Merry
I was watching one of Jonathan Mann's videos the other day (as I often do), and he has been doing fan requests while on a trip. So I made a silly request, just the first thing that randomly popped into my head. I didn't expect Jonathan to use my stupid idea, but he did, and he turned the stupid idea into a good song. Jonathan writes a Song A Day on YouTube, go subscribe to his channel.
The last challenge over at Song Fight was titled "Future On The Road", and I predicted that Todd McHatton would win. As usual I was right (just kidding), and he did pull off the victory. There's a whole new batch of songs over at Song Fight, so I suggest you go pick your favorite songs for the current round. My picks are listed below:
Voted For: (Right Click "Save As" on the artist's name for a MP3 of their entry.)
Something Happy - I liked it. I expected to smile when listening to this (based on your name), and I did. So I'm not going to say anything bad about it, just well done.
Ajl Anderson - I really dug the music. I didn't care for the lyrics or story telling. I just got bored, and since it's almost 6 minutes long, I suggest cutting it down a bit. The vocal performance was my favorite of this round. You've got a lot of tools in your bag, but I just didn't dig the story...the looooong story.
Scott Gesser - I think this has promise...despite me not being into the story. The hook is catchy, but the recording just sucks. I don't really know what you're capable of, but I look at this being a solid very rough demo.
Others: (Head over to Song Fight to listen to these songs.)
backward binoculars - Very simple music, and you have a soothing voice. WTF moment just after the 2 minute mark? Some of those sound effects just aren't pleasant to listen to. At one point I was reminded of what it was like having a dial up internet connection. I didn't really get the story being told, but as most people find out, I'm the type of person who likes the story to be crystal clear.
Fritzl Family Staycation - Next...
The Dinnertime Boys - Honestly that was very purty. The first 20 seconds I just sat back with my eyes closed relaxing. Then I opened them & saw my player said the song was about 1/3 of the way finished...just when I was expecting...well...lyrics? I know instrumentals are allowed here at Song Fight, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. At least make it longer (TWSS) you tease.
Baker - What the heck is going on in the beginning & from 2:18-2:41? Whatever it is, stop it. The second time it stops very abruptly, which just makes it seem even more weird & out of place. The vocals weren't great, but good enough. My big problem is that there seems to be a lot going on in this song, yet none of them seem to go together.
It's now December, and Christmas time has officially started here at Spintown. Expect a new post pretty much every day of this month. If I don't have a review or something else to post, I'll be posting Christmas related videos.
Christmas Tonight I've never heard of Dave Barnes before, but this is a nice little Christmas song. Honestly the only reason I found it is because Jennifer Love Hewitt is in the video. Gotta love Love.
Deck The Halls Nothing says Christmas is near like a new Pomplamoose VideoSong.
Slayer Christmas Lights Spectacular I love these videos...as long as they don't give MY neighbors any ideas...
Jingle Bell Boobs This doesn't really need any farther explaining...
